Hugging trees and reflecting on time.
It was a cold and windy day today, which is normal for Scotland in December, but it was also damp. We met in peace and took a moment to become aware of our surroundings.
Our reading was from the book of Luke.
We discussed what could be considered “fruit” or “chaff”, as well as the way in which Jesus saves. In this passage John is quite harsh with his words. How do they compare with the style used to convey the message by Jesus?
Is, will, everyone be saved and if so what do we need to do? We then became more acquainted with the trees on our route to the cafe. Measuring the trunks and using an app we discovered that most of them were around 150 years.
This was not unexpected and also used a smaller tree old, except for a Jubilee tree which had a plaque which we used to compare dating.
We then retired to the Central for coffee car and a bit talk.
CLC at Simon and Kates on Monday the 16th! As a harvest, what would you save (Metaphorically) from the Church as we expereince it now, but would you let burn and fade away?
